Half heart Half Horse

I came up with this idea this morning so after a yummy bacon and poached egg breakfast I got sketching, cut it out and sprayed this. Two heartheads immortalised in a pair of bucking horses.

♥ Hearthead Street Art

Hello - it seems to be warming up in Sydney and maybe it's fueling my creative ideas for stencils. Above is Ms. Hearthead ♥ holding a little cute bunny and below she is sporting a dashing moustache!
Hope you like them! Oh you can follow me on twitter - I normally tweet when there is a new post up and I've just set up a Ms Hearthead tumblr where I will be posting my heartshaped art. ♥

Hearthead Graffiti & Yen

I've been meaning to do a lot more graffiti and get back into spray painting so today I cut a simple stencil and had a little spray. I watched Banksy's documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop the other day. It's a brilliant documentary about a French guy who is obsessed with filming everything around him and embarks on a journey to film Banksy. Banksy turns the story around and ends up making a documentary on this guy who turns out to be an intriguing, quirky character. It's a really funny, dry documentary and definitely worth a watch.
Here are a few screenshots of my work featured on Yen Magazine's website. I'm in great company too because fellow art blogger Ben Zen is featured.

Tickling Rabbits

Ms Hearthead tickling some rabbits. I hope you like her. She has some very opulent and grand cuffs. Last week I ventured to Jenolan Caves and the Blue Mountains which is 3 hours west of Sydney. The caves are amazingly beautiful and this is one of many pictures I took. These are spindly stalactites and stalagmites that are thousands of years old.
This photo is from the Imperial Cave which has an underground river flowing through it. The guide was nearly having a heart attack when we all walked down there to have a look, apparently people have fallen in before and one man got sucked into the hole below the water. I think she was just trying to scare us because she said the river supplies their drinking water and heavily emphasised no touching of the water, that only made me want to touch it more....I didn't though.

Here's a heart shaped mushroom Darren and I found in amongst the rest of the normal looking ones. It tasted extra special :-)

Inked

I designed this tattoo recently for Sharla and yesterday she got inked! I LOVE how they have turned out - the red stars add a punch of colour. More importantly Sharla is very pleased with the results and so is her husband. Phew...

Thanks to Sharla for the beautiful photos! Below is the actual drawing that she took into the tattooist.

Bleeding Love

Here's a slightly gory heart shaped head lady. My nose has been hurting from blowing it so much over the past few days and it inspired me to draw this. It's a nice contrast with her delicate hands against some gory blood. Here's a beautiful song below by the Guillemots - I went to see them a few years back at a festival in Glasgow, I forgot about this song until today....

On Yer Bike

Here's a moody looking lady on a bicycle and lots of delicious red apples in her basket. I'm just getting back into the swing of drawing after a few days of ladyflu - more deadly than manflu. I have a sore nose from blowing it all the time - but I watched this video which made me laugh.

Heart Shaped Heads

Above is a sultry bird lady - she is A3 in size and she was drawn especially for a bar in England. She now sits above a piano on a red wall greeting customers. She is part of a series of ladies that adorn the walls - you can see her sister pouring mint tea in the previous post.
Above is a little girl who I started drawing a few years ago - she was half finished and left in my bedroom whilst I went on a 5 month holiday to Australia. The five months turned into 3 years before I returned and found her still waiting to be finished. Luckily I took her away and finished the patterning around her - she is now waiting to be framed and hanged in a new coffee shop in England.
These are some of the plates I illustrated on for the new coffee shop - I like the contrast of the vintage gold patterning and the stark black lines. It's a refreshing change drawing on plates and cups instead of paper all the time.
I went to Bondi last week and I saw some very nice murals along the beach, I would love to paint something as big as that. Whilst I was in London I came across some Banksy graffiti (photo below) - I think it is time to work on some street pieces....if I ever go to Melbourne again I would love to stick something up in that famous lane way.

One last funny photo below: Whilst I was in England I visited my little cousins (who are so cute!) - it was Poppy's sports day at school so we toddled along and joined in. So here is me and Poppy having a game of tennis haha. She's so clever for a 4.5 year old....she called me on Skype the other day all by herself - genius.
